Nelson Cruz

Nelson Cruz of Hartford, beloved husband of Donna Emmelmann, entered into eternal peace of Friday, March 24, 2023 at home at the age of 63.  Born and raised in Hartford, CT, he is survived by his mother Emilia Galarza.  Nelson was kindhearted and generous to all.  He spent 30 years of happiness on and off the job with his beloved wife, Donna.  He worked at the Hilton Hotel for over 25 years where his sense of humor, personality, and presence will always be remembered.  Nelson was an avid collector of anything interesting and unique.  As he would say, "the Best of the Best"!

He is also survived by his daughter Tanya Cruz of Florida, stepdaughter Debbie Emmelmann and her son Matt Knoff of Vernon; 4 siblings, Naida Cruz and her husband Carlos Cruz Jr. of Florida, Migdalia Alvarez and her husband George Alvarez of Connecticut., Nancy Zayas and her husband Concepcion "Papo" Alvarez of Florida, and Edwin Cruz and his wife Yazmin Cruz of Connecticut.  He also leaves behind his aunt Victoria Galarza and uncle Antonio Galarza of Puerto Rico, and several nieces and nephews, cousins and their families in Connecticut, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
