Gabriel "Jay-R" Rodriguez Jr.

On the morning of Tuesday, September 14 th , Gabriel “Jay-R” Rodriguez Jr. of Colchester passed
unexpectedly at the age of 41.

Gabriel was an accomplished Mason who worked as a Laborer in multiple trades and was incredibly
handy. He was the kind of person who would do whatever he could to help those in need and was a
“gentle giant”. One of the things that family and friends will recall is that he had a signature “Chesire
Cat” grin. He was most passionate about the large family and friends that he leaves behind.

Gabriel is survived by his mother, Nancy Tate, and her husband, James Tate; as well as his father, Gabriel
Rodriguez Sr. and his wife, Marie Rodriguez. In addition to loving parents, he is survived by three
siblings: Joshua, Kenny, and Jennifer. He leaves behind a very loving and supportive wife of four years,
Katrina Rodriguez; 9 children: Antonio, Alize, Jades, Gabriella, Elijah, Ace’yon, A’mya, Lily’anna, and
Da’moni; and 2 grandchildren: William and Alyakam. He is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, and nephews, who were all very precious to him. To know Gabriel was to love him, and
there is no way to be able to include the comprehensive list of friends that he left behind because of the
tremendous impact he made during his short time on Earth.

Gabriel was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Gladys and Candido Perez.

Services were held at the DeLeon Funeral Home in Hartford on Sunday.
